The Chief Executive of Treloar's School, Simon Burch, in this week's Alton Herald has expressed support "on behalf of students and staff" for the campaign against Veolia's proposals to build an incinerator on the site of the current recycling facility in the countryside just outside Alton.
Mr Burch said "The proposed incinerator presents significant issues in regard to the health and well-being of our students. Because of their complex physical disabilities, and associated medical conditions that are likely to be impacted by any reduction in air quality, emissions from the incinerator pose a real risk to our vulnerable students, many of whom have lung conditions and breathing difficulties."
