"Show us evidence for need" say campaign group

The No Wey Incinerator Action Group have asked Veolia and Hampshire County Council to publish evidence that shows there is a need for a fourth incinerator in Hampshire, as Veolia's planning application for a massive commercial incinerator in the rural Wey Valley is being considered by HCC, this week's Alton Herald reports.

A Hampshire County Council spokesperson said it had done its own "detailed and up-to-date assessment of need and capacity, specifically in relation to commercial or industrial waste", but this has not been published. Similarly, Veolia have not published evidence to back up their repeated claims of a supposed need for the giant incinerator.
