Reject the incinerator, say campaigners

Veolia's controversial plans for a commercial waste incinerator in the rural Wey Valley near Alton come before Hampshire County Council's Regulatory Committee next Wednesday, 23rd February.

This week's press highlights that the planning application may yet be "called-in" by the Secretary of State for determination, as it involves issues of more than local importance.

Veolia's "greenwashing" is called out in a double page spread in the Alton and Farnham Herald, along with a detailed analysis of why this is the wrong location, the wrong site, there is no proven need, and how it is contrary to Hampshire County Council's planning policies and climate change ambitions.
