More than 5,000 object to A31 incinerator plans

Hampshire County Council have concluded collating and posting public representations received during the further consultation period on Veolia's plans to build a massive commercial incinerator near Alton in the Wey Valley.

Over 5,000 objections have now been received in total to the plan, as is reported in this week's Alton Herald.

The earliest the application will now be determined by HCC is in June, given the upcoming local council elections. The No Wey Incinerator campaign continue to work behind the scenes as this date approaches.
