CPRE: Incinerator plans threaten "valued landscape"

The Hampshire branch of the Campaign for the Protection for Rural England (CPRE) have announced that they believe Veolia's proposed incinerator near Alton will threaten what they consider a "valued landscape", which is required to be protected from adverse impacts.

In making this assessment the team from CPRE Hampshire considered the character and physical distinctiveness of the area, and the experience of the landscape as enjoyed by the public from public viewpoints and rights of way.

This was announced in a press release from CPRE and has been reported in this week's Herald newspaper.
