HELP US SAVE THE
Burning Rubbish 24/7, 363 Days a Year
Veolia is a huge multinational firm that wants to demolish the current recycling plant near Alton and replace it with an incinerator to burn commercial waste.
It will annually consume 330,000 tonnes of waste, supplied by a fleet of Heavy Goods Vehicles day and night.
The choice of this site is totally inappropriate for an industrial complex dominating the rural landscape, and on the edge of the South Downs National Park.
Its presence and operation will have a huge and permanent negative influence on local residents and businesses as well as all who enjoy and benefit from our beautiful countryside.
There will be two 80 metre chimneys - nearly the same height as the Big Ben Tower and the Statue of Liberty!
Your donation will help us get the best professional advice to fight the application, in vital areas such as the impact on the landscape, wildlife, ecology, and air quality. It will also help us to fund campaign materials.
Thanks to all your generous donations we have exceeded our initial target of £40,000!
When the formal application is submitted by Veolia, we need people to submit objections to the planning authority. In the meantime, please spread the word – join our group on Facebook, and follow us on Twitter and YouTube.
Who We Are
We are a campaign group of local residents, businesses and farmers who want to protect our beautiful Wey Valley and our local ecology: we oppose Veolia's plans for the new incinerator. Objecting to the planning application is the only way to STOP it.
